Hong Kong Gold Exchange Chairman Dr. Haywood Cheung said, "Gold is a rare and precious metal with high investment value, so it needs a regulated platform to set rules for precious metal trading, supervise the trading process, and ensure standardization and transparency. This is the role of the Hong Kong Gold Exchange. We are the only physical gold exchange recognized by the Hong Kong SAR Government."

In observation of the Christmas Holiday from 25th December 2025 (Thursday) to 26th December 2025 (Friday) and the first day of January on 1st January 2026 (Thursday), the open outcry market will be close the full day, the products trading time of electronic trading platform will be adjusted as follows in the Hong Kong Gold Exchange (HKGX's).
