When the Observatory hoists Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above, the closing and opening times of the Hong Kong Gold Exchange are as follows:

	Signal Cancellation Time
	After 8 AM or later	Morning session afternoon session opens
	After 12 noon or later	Full day closed

2 If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is hoisted after the market opens, the market will be closed
within 30 minutes.

● If the market closes due to a typhoon after opening, the official price must be determined
within fifteen minutes. If the storage fee has not been determined, it will be calculated based
on the previous day. Trades in this session must still be recorded and settled for outstanding
amounts.
● If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is hoisted during storage fee negotiation, the fee determination will be halted, and the fee will be calculated based on the previous day.
● If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is hoisted after the storage fee is finalized but physical
delivery cannot be completed in time, delivery and documentation will be deferred to the
second business day.
● If the market resumes in the afternoon, the storage fee will be calculated based on the
previous day.

Black rainstorm warning signal

When the black rainstorm warning signal is issued, the market opening time of the market is as
follows:

1 Monday to Friday

Signal Hoisting Time	Signal Cancellation Time	Trading and settlement arrangements
At any time	Before 8 AM	Market opens two hours after the signal is cancelled
	Signal Cancellation Time
	After 8 AM or later	Morning session closed, afternoon session open
	After 12 noon or later	Full day closed

● Unless otherwise announced, if a Black Rainstorm Warning is issued after the market opens,
trading will continue as normal for the full day.
● If the market resumes in the afternoon, the storage fee will be calculated based on the
previous day.
